Carrier notes

Which carrier to use

USPS

Priority Mail is usually cheapest for anything under 5 lb.

UPS

Ground for heavier appliances.

FedEx

Home Delivery works fine.

Insurance + declared value

Protecting the package

Declare for appliances over $150; usually not worth it for under $100.

Specialty shippers are usually not worth it here.

Parcel handles small appliances fine.

FAQ

Common questions

Q01 What about the cord? Should I unplug and wrap it?

Wrap the cord loosely and tape to the body of the appliance.

Q02 Can I ship glass-carafe coffee makers together?

Yes, but wrap the carafe in bubble separately and place in the main box padded.

Q03 Espresso machines with water reservoirs?

Drain completely; a residual half-cup of water can freeze in winter transit and crack the reservoir.
